Safety Training & Compliance Specialist

$75,000 - $95,000 yearly

Job Description

Safety Training & Compliance Specialist
Inland Northwest AGC

Build with the Best — Help Strengthen Jobsite Safety Across the Region

If you’ve built your career in construction and safety, you know this:

Most roles limit your impact to one company, one crew, or one project.

THIS ROLE IS DIFFERENT.

At AGC, you’ll work alongside contractors across the Inland Northwest, helping improve safety practices, supporting teams in the field, and delivering training that makes a real impact on jobsites throughout the region.

This is one of the most connected safety roles in the local construction industry. You won’t just support one organization — you’ll become a trusted resource to dozens of member companies.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
This is a hands-on, member-facing role that blends fieldwork, training, relationship-building, and problem-solving. Some regional travel to the Tri-Cities, Lewiston/Clarkston, and Moses Lake areas is expected.

Responsibilities include:
  • Delivering engaging safety training, including OSHA and First Aid/CPR courses
  • Conducting jobsite visits, audits, and safety evaluations
  • Supporting member companies with practical guidance and safety solutions
  • Assisting with the development and expansion of AGC safety programs
  • Building strong relationships with contractors and field teams
  • Staying current on OSHA/DOSH updates and helping members apply them in the real world
You’ll split your time between the classroom, the field, and collaborating with a team focused on bringing real value to the industry.

WHY THIS ROLE STANDS OUT

Broad Industry Impact
Your work will help shape safety practices across multiple companies and projects throughout the region.

Trusted Advisor Role
You’re not walking onto jobsites as “the compliance police.” You’ll be a trusted advisor helping contractors improve safety, support crews, and solve problems.

Variety Every Week
No two days look the same. One day you may be leading training, the next visiting jobsites or helping a contractor navigate a challenge in the field.

Long-Term Growth Opportunity
This role is part of a growing safety department with room for continued development as AGC expands its member services and programs.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
  • 3–5 years of experience in construction, safety, or a related field
    (commercial construction experience preferred)
  • Working knowledge of OSHA standards and jobsite safety practices
  • Experience leading training, toolbox talks, or group presentations
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with field crews, supervisors, and leadership
  • Self-motivated and organized with the ability to manage a dynamic workload
  • Comfortable being in the field and actively engaging with members
PREFERRED (BUT NOT REQUIRED)
  • CHST or similar safety certification
  • OSHA 10/30 or Outreach Trainer certification
  • Experience conducting safety audits or inspections
If you don’t yet have certifications but bring strong field experience, communication skills, and the right mindset, we’re open to helping the right candidate grow into the role.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

$75,000–$95,000 DOE
AGC offers a strong compensation and benefits package designed to support long-term career growth and work-life balance, including:
  • 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and families
  • Profit-sharing program
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Annual bonus opportunities
  • 2–4 weeks PTO based on longevity
  • Paid holidays, including the week between Christmas and New Year’s
